Prerequisite:

1. gtk2 version 2.0 or later

2. openssl 0.9.7 or later

  $ sudo ifconfig eth0  xx.xx.xx.xx
  $ sudo route add default gw xx.xx.xx.xx

Installation on NON RPM Supported System

     a. Download Broadband Client:

             Click here to download Sify Broadband Client for Linux OS

     b. Installation Steps:

            gunzip sify_bbclient-3.0.tar.gz

            tar -xvf sify_bbclient-3.0.tar

            For more information refer Readme.txt file bundled along with package

Launching the Client

    Open a terminal from X server

    From terminal run the command "sifyconnect"
    shibu@shibu-laptop:/usr/lib$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8  /usr/lib/libssl.so.4

   shibu@shibu-laptop:/usr/lib$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.8  /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.4
   shibu@shibu-laptop:/usr/lib$ sifyconnect 
shibu@shibu-laptop:~$ sudo sifyconnect 

Checking reachability of Sify Server ...                   : Success
checking whether instance sifyclient already running ...   : NO
Establishing sify broadband connection ...

shibu@shibu-laptop:~$ host google.com
google.com has address 72.14.207.99
google.com has address 64.233.187.99
google.com has address 64.233.167.99
google.com mail is handled by 10 smtp1.google.com.
google.com mail is handled by 10 smtp2.google.com.

Not able to Connect
